Grey/black Custom Shop back in the green Pelican case, with the serial number and frame markings left unpainted. Later observed examples show VP and gunsmith stamps returning to the trigger guard. The lack of darkening on serials suggests Colt repurposed and refinished some existing unused frames, supported by serials significantly out of sequence from what you would expect to find.
